October 19, 2011 Meeting Notes
A. Meeting called to order: Kelly Moores at 6:31 pm
B. Treasurer’s Report: Lori Olsen – We have a balance of $18,654
a. PTA sponsored Lego League for 1 year
b. H&R Block does the PTA taxes and audit
c. Yes, there is a building bridges line
C. Committee Reports: How can you get involved?
a. Membership – is up – 20 teachers!!! December 10th, members get a card
b. Fundraising: Karen Reinhold was around $19000.
c. Ongoing Fundraising
i. Box Tops: Hilary Breault – 11/1 is deadline
ii. Coke Rewards – double pts until tomorrow
iii. Caprisun: We need more volunteers to help with this to do a once a week collection. We raised $500 last yr
iv. Campbell Soup Labels: cut the labels before turning in
v. Hannaford School Cash: Missy Forbes: now until December 2, put in buckets in school. Last yr we raised $300
vi. Stop & Shop –you will need to register your card to participate
vii. Ms. Morse scarecrow – at Mack’s Apples. Vote for the scarecrow & the school will get the money.
d. HGF Blog: www.hgfpta-highlights.blogspot.com : Pta agenda notes will be posted on blog. Contact Lori with questions & ideas.
e. Volunteering at HGF: School store needs help from 11:30-12:30 every day
f. Restaurant of the Month: Leah Hall- eat in and carry out
i. November 14: Pizza Hut 5-9PM
ii. December 12: Papa Ginos 4-8PM
g. Family Nights and Committees
i. October 21st @6:30 PM – Halloween Fun Night: Lisa chairing. Bring a costume or candy for entrance fee or $1 per person. Dad’s are doing a haunted house.
ii. November 18th- Game Night & Dessert Auction: Shannon An old fashion board games and dessert auction
iii. December 2nd – Barnes and Nobles Bookfair- Missy Forbes: crafts, teachers reading at storytime, sing along –vouchers go out tomorrow
D. Teacher and Parent Rep comments: Shannon Calabro (Parent Rep)
E. New business
a. Paper Retriever Recycling – Lori Olsen: looking into having the recycling at HGF or in parking lot of 99 Restaurant. More info is needed to make a decision
b. HGF apparel wear sale – Lori: look for samples on Nov 18th family night
c. Save Around book sale- Kelly: $20 coupon book. See Kelly to purchase
d. After School Clubs- Drama club is being looked into by Victoria Sullivan
e. Healthy Snack Program and Popcorn Changes- PTA will survey the teachers to see when they want to have popcorn.

a. NECAP make up tests are still going on
b. Citizen of the month will start in November
c. Nurse is requesting small underwear and white tube socks

September 21, 2011 Meeting Notes
A. Meeting called to order: Kelly Moores at 6:30 pm
B. Welcome and Introduction: Kelly Moores
C. Treasurer’s Report: Lori Olsen – We have a balance of $2363.58
D. Committee Reports: How can you get involved?
a. Membership - $5 to join so we can pay dues to the State NH PTA & members can vote
b. Fundraising: Karen Reinhold – 9/30 due date, will need help counting money, prizes will be at the end of October & pies will be delivered near Thanksgiving
c. Ongoing Fundraising
i. Box Tops: Hilary Breault $2013 raised last year. $2416 this yr goal. Oct. 30 deadline.
ii. Coke Rewards –looking for volunteers to enter codes on their own at www.mycokerewards.com. Last year, we provided playground kits for each classroom, TV & flip camera for the Auction.
iii. Caprisuns- Sandi Stallings – Collected in the lunchroom & hallways
iv. Campbell Soup Labels: Joy Hunt – UPC needs to be cut
v. Hannaford School Cash: Missy Forbes – starts now thru Dec. Send receipts into school. We raise $1500-2000. Can ask people & cashiers to give you receipts.
vi. Got Books –Stacey Wiegler- bin in 99 parking lot. $$ goes to Reading Curriculum
vii. Stop N Shop – Members need to register your card with our school at store
d. HGF Blog: Going Green!! www.hgfpta-highlights.blogspot.com - by using HGF facebook page, agendas, blog – you need to sign up for the blog – Blog will have dates & meeting minutes. Officers will look into yahoo groups and/or emailing large groups of people
e. Volunteering at HGF – Members need to sign up to volunteer and/or chair an event
f. Restaurant of the Month: Leah Hall – We raise $100-300 per event.
i. October 12: Chucky Cheese 3-9PM – Kids will come home with a sticker/reminder
ii. November 14: Pizza Hut 5-9PM
iii. December 12: Papa Ginos 4-8PM
g. Family Nights and Committees – Family nights will not happen unless there is a volunteer to chair the event.
i. October 21st @6:30 PM – Halloween Fun Night
ii. December 2nd – Barnes and Nobles Book Fair –Missy Forbes – last yr $1250 raised
E. Teacher and Parent Rep comments: Shannon Calabro (Parent Rep) – SpecialsTeachers need supplies: tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer, dry erase markers. Donate to these teachers
F. New business: Bug slips were discussed
G. Administrative report
a. Mr. Adams – Great start of school, everything ran smoothly. Changes for the school year: Good Citizen of the month: instead of pizza party, a certificate and teacher written paragraph about the student will be posted. Also: Birthday books will continue
b. Mrs. Vitagliano – Smooth opening to school. Parents need to review safety for bus riding students. Stay in seat.
H. Open forum: any member may speak and bring an issue to the floor
a. Ms. Kurtz & Shannon Calabro wanting to do a yard sale/craft sale and dessert auction this year. $25 a table. Officers will look into scheduling that.
b. Stacey W – Looking for volunteers for manning the school store 11:45-12:30 each day. Store will not open until volunteers are in place. Only 1 volunteer a day is needed.
